Gud man Ted!

Well, where to begin? I know here:

DEC. 09'.
Crap enough X-Mas tell you the truth got f all pressie's except a t-shirt from my sister but did enjoy coverage of the PDC World Darts though Barney never showed up in the Final, Taylor blitzing him 7-1 though I was at the Ally Pally year before to see Darth Maple claim his 3rd World Title was very enjoyable. Regards Irish Intervarsities lost in Semis to eventual Champion and was unable to take part in the Pairs' as had no partner from Independent, ah well Bobby G due to come in March. However as we left Limerick, Baker's Place the venue we travelled to Carlow to a monster exhibition in Carlow Rugby Club and of course Shorty, Fergus Shortt the new "All-Ireland University Darts Singles Champion" just couldn't resist celebrating and why wouldn't he, his here below as are I.T. Carlow Team with Professionals, Andy "The Pieman" Smith & Terry "The Bull" Jenkins and with 2006 BDO World Champion Jelle Klaason, Shorty & Ken BARLO Kavanagh with whom Shorty completed the double winning the "All-Ireland University Darts Pairs' Title".JAN 10'.
I now in a new college enjoyed Jan. exam free thank b2f and it was really uneventful 2b honest but I was absoutely delighted Ted "The Count" Hankey won his 2nd BDO World Title and that Francis "The Dutch Crown" Hoenselaar finally beat Trina Gulliver to lift the BDO Ladies' Crown!FEB. 10'.
Travelled to Inter-Counties with Galway to Castlebar though as PRO of the County Board was fairly uneventful on playing side but looked forward to Carlow & Teams IV in Carlow in March.
MARCH 10'.
Assignments are a killer ah college work doesn't get any easier, got sponsor for U.D.A.I. Masters' Cup DB Darts Ireland and had great time with Ken Sweeney who did a shop and of course a fantastic time with Bobby G & Little Richard in Brennan's Bar, without doubt best dart set-up I ever seen in a pub, and of course the Maye family enjoyed themselves, though I.T. Carlow retained the title 7-5 Best of 13 legs 1001 against L.I.T. a great day, I of course had no team so just focused on the Masters', though was really pleased that young Boycey drove Sean "Diceman" Reilly now a Lord of Sealand and Paul McHugh with Trish Doyle the trio made up the N.U.I.G. Team which I cheered on as been from galway though alas dey didn't feature. I was goin well and made in to the Final where I had to wait for my opponent Paddy Barcoe to play his Q-Finals, S-Finals and his Team matches as the man is quite the accomplished rugby player, as I awaited a Noodle dish down in Chinese down the road I was not really the same goin into the Final Best of 9 legs 1001 and was destroyed 5-2 ah well if I had 11 legs 1001 under my belt that day like Paddy probaly would of been closer but alas Paddy was victorious but I got this pic with Bobby in Dublin Airport so literally "I had the last laugh!"

April 10'. We decided to enter the Inaugural All-Ireland Darts Championships which had a Singles, Pairs, & Teams from any Pub or Club, County Team or Professional Player who usually played with their county and I was to captain the U.D.A.I. All-Ireland University All-Stars Team lets hope all our "All-Stars" turn up?
MAY 10'. The time as we all know is exam time and lets just say not my favourite time of year but the weather is a turn up for the books or not as the case may be ha..

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://danger180.blogspot.com/2011/05/dec-09-may-11-gud-man-ted.html' title='DEC. 09' - MAY 10'. Girls wern't half bad either! Jeanie Comer showed up we traded drinks, laughs and a photo but nothin else, though we had a blast all the same! Barra was ever the dapper dapper in his tux, but I think my bright striped blue tie was complimentary to my Remus Umo suit. The folowing day I had a sleep on a stone in Trim with the rain gently falling on me hair and the public walking past me wonderin is this a homeless guy in a suit asleep on our stone, thankfully it wasn't but nevertheless the castle in the background made me envisage scenes of Braveheart!

All in all, it wasn't bad and I look forward to leaving this college to go on to better things, oh NUIG jumps straight up at me!!! I wonder why??!!

Later me folks, danger!

DANGERTIME 08/04/08

Well folks, it's been awhile as the Dai Lama would say 2 long", well, I don't know just it's hotting up for the Torch now isn't it?, Tibet is on every 1's lips, Zimbabwe situation is kinda boring me now though Kirsty my friend on CNN makes it as exciting as 1 can from Hong Kong. Yes folks, Danger is no longer of no fixed abode, but of Apt. 28 Block 2a, GCD Halls of Residence, SCR, D 8. Livin with Eoin the cookie monster photos will be posted at some date though I've only seen him like 3 times in 3 weeks, comes out 1 a week guys u know dem, every 1 does...& Jan from Tramore a barrel of laughs, well no..............
GCD Ball comin up and my formal budgie for dates like this 2 hide the campness won't be der so I'm glad the Luke is comin, photo's no doubt will follow, but it will be a busy 1 as I've the cousins' confirmation on Saturday during the day first before I get the bus 2 Kinnegad - then hopefully my carriage awaits 2 bring me 2 the Knightsbrook for the Annual GCD Formal Ball, Southie stuffed in my pockets mind plus the ole Kopperberg Pear pian i mo bholg, but I wouldn't have it any other way!!! The NUIG Sports' Awards didn't prove successful for the NUIG Darts Club though we were chuffed 2 be invited & there was no sign of Judas there, but I think Jesus got a Kiss off Judas though I neva got a feek of Feeks!!! Well, the sinusitis s nearly at a bay now, so I'm lookin forward 2 my brief spell in the west before I next night out, I know what ur thinkin it's tough been an adopted south-side socialite but aaah well, some 1 has 2 do it!!!

NUIG DARTS CLUB UP FOR AN AWARD< LOOK HOW FAR WE'VE COME! 02/03/08

NUIG 25th Annual Sports Awards are on Thurs. n the plosh Ardilaun Hotel. As many of u knw 2 thngs mean alot in my life they are Darts & Republicanism. A cocktail 1 might say but I believe so much in both of them and what might be achieved with my input. Lets begin the tale of a Sports' Schlorship Interview back in September 05' I proposed the idea of the U.D.A.I. with its' HQ @ NUIG but as u knw it's in DANGERFIELD, Kilmore, Tuam. I outlined my ambitions and what I would do with the 2,000E should I of been awarded it and to the surprise of the interviewin panel I said I would put it in the U.D.A.I. not my back pocket and returning recently to the Sports' Centre n NUIG I must say I get a fantastic welcome from all the lads and what I said I would do on that day right up to this day, I've tried to keep on track. What does all this have 2 do with NUIG Darts Club, well upon the idea of forming a Darts Club back over 3 years ago, I have single handely ran it from my Dublin abode and the Club staged the U.D.A.I. Intervarsities on 13th & 14th April 07'' with GCD duly taking the honours. The club also held the U.D.A.I. Singles on 8th December last and it is with great pleasure that "NUIG is the 1st University in Ireland to recognise Darts as an Indoor Sports Club", and I am proud of that statistic! From hitting a 140 on the 1st Clubs' day in front of MI Meehan to playing "The Pieman", NUIG have come along way in that we have a fantastic Darts Set-Up in the College Bar to potentially the First Award for the Sport at Third-Level in the World at the NUIG Sports' Awards, I like to think enthusiasm & passion are the instigating factors, I feel it is worthy in concluding this tale that as we believe in the U.D.A.I.
"IT'S IN THE AIM". Thank you and Happy Darting my loyal fanbase!

Outta 1 Rag week in2 Another!!! 27/02/08

NUIG's Rag week was a steam, I was violently assaulted by a revengal, rotton, repulsive reptile, Yes all the R's as I could call her alot worse believe me. Bk was in gr8 form though I'm suddenly expelled as been his other half AND more importantly his BEBO FRIEND! BK BK!!

Went out Mon, Wed, Thurs, Sat & Tues dis week so far, as I'm attending the drinking sessions on both the West & East Coasts.

Skint though all the same so am really looking forward to my Bed in DANGERFIELD, wen I get hme on Friday!

U.D.A.I. Intervarsities put bak so I've a while to wait till I claim more titles so I'm sure those of u reading dis will appreciate wat it takes to be a top class sportsman!

NUIG Sports Awards on the 6th March could the Darts' Club or me get an award we will have 2 wait & c!!

Amigos mes fans!!!

NUIG LAW BALL WHERE 2 I BEGIN??? 14/02/08

Dear Diary,
It was a cold evening but I had a certain heat in my body as I caught the 3:45 bus to Tuam from Galway to get togged out for the Ball of all Ball's. BK picked us up and we headed to the Galway Bay after a quick pitstop in Woodquay, for a lick of the GHD straightner. We stayed in the car myself Dunty, BK until the lady inwaiting arrived, Ms. Caragh Mc Govern my companion for the night arrived at about 8 p.m., we unfortunately missed the champagne reception but I couldn't really give a toss, as "I think it's glorified piss".
The chocolate fountain awaited with lots of fruit however when I sussed it out I got 2 bits of kiwi & pineapple to delve into the fountain but it was stopped at this stage no "ripples in the rockpool" so to speak, so entertaining as I am I suggested to the other "fruit scavangers" that "there so over-rated". We made our way down to the dining hall, as myself & Caragh scanned the room for a table to join, loan behold we found space beside two long haired guys, (photos to follow), and I was PRIVELDGED to have the pleasure to sit beside Martin "The only Blind Law student in Ireland" and I couldn't help but say "It was a first for me", but I said I'm sure "it's a first for you too Martin". "What do you mean Steve?", "Well your sitting beside Ireland's only ever University Darts Champion". Nice Danger PR always on the spin, don't yee think??

Starter arrived. Vegetable soup though they were stingy on the bread so I kept sending the basket back for more and all in all, myself and Martin ate 20 slices between us, (conservative estimate u knw). Next, while we were chatting along the main course arrived; Turkey, Stuffing & Ham with gravy & 1 roast potato. WOW!! As the vegetables were coming along, (now I must say what I think of what I call country veg! Big F******g carrots, parsnips, cauliflower, broccolli, I hate them there f****** rotten, cheap crap, buffer's paradiso, I mean I'm a sizzling stir-fry man myself), the waitress looked creased like one of my crusty boxers asked us what we wanted? I was explaining to Martin what veg was on offer, and the waitress remarks "If he (Martin) would only let me in", like to serve him like, I felt like saying "Love, his a tiny bit blind", but I didn't want to shock her, the strapping cow, so when she was about to serve me the shite, I said only mash love, in my D4 style posh accent, intimidating way, as she replies; catch this "for f***s sake! I turned to Martin in stitches and Caragh and Martin's friend, "The fucking commoner".
We got not a bad desert by any means after I tried to eat seconds of Turkey & Ham, but I had to open the top button for comfort of me trousers!

The dance floor awaited as I made my ?60 last like there was no 2mrw, as I overindulged Caragh in white wine as it was FREE!! But I did get in a few vodka's & white, as I went after, you all know "Southie & Lime".
The night was in full swing now and as I knocked back an occasionaly vodka & black, I turned round to see the old ally, now enemy staring a me in a smiling fashion, I quickly threw the eyes to heaven and he done a 360 as I turned to Caragh and go "The plonkers arrived".
Speaking of him, I encountered him about a further 8 times during the night but my dignity and professionalism held in place the anger & aggression and I proceeded to go to the smoking area with Caragh and boy was it fun check out her joke, it's priceless!!!
Joke: Daddy Onion, Mammy Onion, Baby Onion & his brother and sister onions were placed on a shelf in a vegetable market for sale! A customer came in molested all the onions and took them all EXCEPT Baby Onion home. Then 2 days passed before a Farmer came into the vegetable market and bought Baby Onion who was obviously very happy to not be left alone. The Farmer put Baby Onion into the basket on his bike beside the morning paper and they cycled down the road. They went over a bump and Baby Onion flew out of the basket and fell down through the spokes on the wheel and the back wheel went over Baby Onion. The last Baby Onion could remember was waking up in hospital where all his family were sitting around his bed looking worried. The doctor came in and Mammy Onion asked:
"Doctor how is Baby Onion?"
The doctor repied, "Do you want the good or the bad news first?"
Mammy Onion said "The bad news, I suppose!"
Doctor then said, "Bad news is his grand!"
"Good news is, his gonna be a vegetable for the rest of his life!"

My night as you can imagine was a barrell of laughs and I thoroughly enjoyed it, after the party in 210 Dún na Coirbe where I must thank BK for brngn us to along with Dunty & Magnifico for their always continous support & wit! On the other hand I'm not so confident about giving him the 1,000E appearance money over the weekend!

I will keep my fans post
Details in The Tuam Herald look good as does Galway Bay Fm & Flirt Fm, so hopefully I'll be able to raise enough cash from the U.D.A.I. auctioned shirts etc. by the time he flys back on Sunday eve from Dublin.

Photos will be posted after the events!

Happy Darting!

BDO World Darts Final 13/01/08

TERRIFIC MATCH!

I thought "The Wizard", was unlucky on at least six doubles no more so than the last leg where he shaved double 16, for "Webby", to sink double 10, (which got him out of jail an awful lot of times during the match, but his 120 outshot, shangaii in the first leg singled out his intent, and to the joyous chants of "Webbey" we have a new World Champion.
The joys of the BDO, new champions every year and I believe this man could do 3 in a row, his that good, his dangerously good!!.

On the heads up which was better World Final, I'd have to say the PDC one as I was at it, but the BDO one was a better standard FINAL!

I'll be at both next year so my view will be passive!

As we the fans say "Darts is the true Winner",

Remember, "IT'S IN THE AIM".

Joinig Bebo 12/01/08

It is 22.11, the night before the Lakeside World Professional Darts Championships, will it be "The Wizard of Oz" Simon Whitlock or the "Webby" Mark Webster??

I'm rooting for the latter as I feel if he does win it he could be a wildcard into the PDC Whyte & Mackay Premier League beginning on 31st Jan 08', which can only be good for darts fans but we'll have 2 wait and c!

Tiocfaidh ar Lá,

Go n-éiri libh!!

October & Novemver, F**K It I'll put 2months 2gthr!

Well folks,

All that has happened in last 2 months 2 yours truly.
Firstly I moved apartment into a new one with three nurses, went out 1st night, scored ended up out near airport and never have I seen a breasted barred lady, very, very small one at that before. For those who are struggling to understand let me put it this way, 2 breasts, 2 nipples with 2 bars thru dem, mad absolute mad!!
Power won WGP no surprise really and followed it up with GSOD which really I was pissed about as ITV 1's version in Ireland UTV kept showing the F***in Brainbox ring in gameshow shite instead of the highlights every night which really pissed me off, knowing the scores without getting to see coverage is really annoying! Ted "The Count" Hankey still a lege, f**K the crowd Ted!!
Darts Intervarsities coming up on 5th Dec. so lets hope I win back my Singles Title this year.
Debating 2nte in TCD with the motion "This house believes the Government should remove all state funding for the Irish Language", I hope I'm opposing the motion after all my name is as Gaeilge.
Christmas around the corner with all my assignments to do cannot wait to hit the town of Tuam on 19th Dec., and see Dangerfield again having been there in ages from been in Limerick, Newry, Carlow and now Galway this weekend darts, parties, 30th's one in Nov. another in Dec. and a 60th Sat. nte I've missed the Tuam folk, and OMG the legends of X Factor, John & Edward Grimes AKA Jedward are voted out when I was just going to head up 2 the Lord Lucan their local this Sun., but now they are on The Late Late Toy Show 2mrw nte so that should be some craic as frankly, I'm way to old 2be tuning in for Stocking Fillers at my age usually.
Sure that's pretty much it Happy X-Mas 2 all that actually take time to read my rants, as on my track record it could be January for the Dec. entry!
Slán

October here's my Sept. Blog

As I sit here at 6:20 am on 5th Oct I must say I have had one of the most interesting evenings of my life. Well I was doing my head in trying to get €20 to head to The Legends of The Oche in Vicar St., my good friend Mary home from work gave us the dosh and I headed down to James St. & arrived where I got a ticket for dat amount, though they were €30 at the door. In I went as happy as a pig in u know what! I enjoyed the 1st half though it was nothin 2 special till guess who came out for the interval photos where there was a photo every 11 sec on average@ €20 a pop. BG saw yours truly & asked me was I ok, I said "How are you? I'm sound though I'm skint", Bobby replied "Come up for a photo". I joined the queue & BG gave the word & I got a lovely photo and I picked it up at the end of the night. Did you know that adding up a single, treble & double of every no. from 1-20 & Bullseye & 25 comes to 1345 I wasn't quick enough & 1 lucky so and so guessed closer & got a set of BG Darts, who said you learn something new everyday eh?.
I basically ended up with 2 lovely lads Mstrs. Sweeneys from Castlebar & their cousin Terry from Essex, Bob & myself back for a few drinks in the Burlington Hotel. Good atmosphere there with London Irish Rugby Team stayin there as they beat Leinster 12-9 in Heineken Cup. Had a great time & it was half 3 before lads headed off up 2 bed & I walked home 2 Stoneybatter, 3 post codes from D4 to D7 may I add. Just switched on BBC news Mr. Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize and in under an hour I get the 7am bus to Galway, good friend Jimmy is off 2 Oz so meeting him around lunchtime.
Well It's been some month, DG came back into Lisbon Referendum really enjoyed his debates, he is by far the most astute political mind in Irish Politics and although it looks like Libertas.eu might be dormant we all sincerely hope he considers running for the Dáil for Galway East in the near future, should the Greens not agree at their convention this weekend we will be looking at an early election. Although the Treaty was passed it was mainly through fear of isolation from Europe & scaremongering from the YES side though I did my part and I did set-up Universities Alliance Against Lisbon http://www.uaal.eu but the people spoke and although it was defeated the 1st time & we had to vote on exactly the same text I'll read very carefully my EU law this year in regards to the so called "gaurantees" when they become legally binding protocols!
I have now made up by mind and am attending Independent Colleges and I'm very impressed with it so far so check it out here http://independentcolleges.ie and I will be setting up a new Darts Club there to compete in the U.D.A.I. Pairs & Singles Intervarsities on 4th & 5th December in Limerick and we will have special guest in Ireland's I.N.D.O. No. 1 Connie Finnian, who reached the Last 8 of the Televised stages of the Winmau World Masters, which I watched "Wolfie" Martin Adams howl his way to victory after coming from 6-3 down in sets to win 7-6 against Robbie "Kong" Green as I watched in a London pub with no volume but was chuffed to see it nonetheless after I attended Muse in their hometown of Teigmouth in Devon on the Friday night. Sure that is all from me for Sept. I must start to get the blogs within the month on time seriously from now on. October's will be coming soon in 2 weeks time or so and will know the Skybet World Grand Prix Champion by then, man the new Citywest arena is huge!! Here's my August Blog!!

Story Folks!!
Well it's been a hectic August! I am just back from London, where I went to Muse on the Friday in Teigmouth in Devon their home town with Cormy my mate, and picked up some some good bargains, Pierre Cardin Polos before heading home via London City Airport where we got free snacks on Cityjet, wow, that hasn't happened in a while Ryanair springs to mind!
I have been going to most of the Ralph's gigs a band from Tuam just out the road from Dangerfield featuring 2 bros., cousin and their mate, explosive stuff, have seen me see them in The Cellar in Galway City, The Twisted Pepper in Dublin & they're in Belfast 2mrw check them out on www.myspace.com/theralphsmusic
I ran and organised and finished in the Top 8 of the 2nd Annual Dixie Burke Memorial Darts Competitions, we got class polos so check out www.tuamdartsleague.info and raised a good sum for charity, so happy days, though was there from 11 am - 11 pm, but won the Pairs with good mate and a great darts player, Little John!
I am hopeful that the main website www.universitydarts.com will be up and running soon and I will be sorting out the Media section where there will be a video featuring the UDC's Aim's & Objectives, aswell as the Forum & Guestbook pages. The U.D.A.I. is going from strength to strength and more Institute's than ever before will be competing this year and as soon as their Affiliation's are received they will be under Affiliated Institute's on www.universitydarts.com/udai
We came up against Skehana in The Junior "C" Special Hurling Championships where we were up by 8 points with 10 minutes to go and lost by 2 points! I was only brought on with 12 minutes to go and won a 65 for us to tie the game and if we did we would of been in the Final, though our sharpshooter wasn't so sharp, let's just say that! Strange selection with 2 injured playing in Full Forward Line and me been left off though I'm certain I scored 3 goals the last day when I came on as a sub to get us to Semi-Finals! The Joys and Tribulations of playing Tuam Hurling, Ha we are definetly no Kilkenny!!
As for my college course I am between doing a 2 year or 1 year Final Year to get my LLB but I'm sure it will come to me as €6200 a lot of dough and then next August upon completing the Bar Entrance Examinations €12,650 for the year in King's Inns, so I have 2 re-examine what I am going 2do and see what is financially realistic before this Duke becomes a Barrister-at-law!!
Until next months though it could run in to start of October with my blogs as of late, I will leave you with this "IT'S IN THE AIM".

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://danger180.blogspot.com/2009/09/i-know-its-september.html' title='I Know It's September! Well it's been an interesting time since the EU election in June. Alas, Declan Ganley didn't get elected but Libertas in general failed to make a significant impact as of yet but come 2014, I feel Libertas could be a significant player in EU politics.
My darts are improving though if I just concentrated on myself practising rather than promoting this fine fine sport I could be more successful however it is important to strike a balance and then I feel results will begin to show. I will be on the look out for sponsors who will have a link from my website http://www.danger180.com and be advertised on my shirt at all competitions, I enter later on in the year. Galway Races are over, thank god, shout out to Freaky!
As PRO of Galway County Darts I am always submitting and editing http://www.galwaydarts.info and I'm delighted with how the progress of the U.D.A.I. & U.D.A.B. sites are going, www.universitydarts.com/udai & www.universitydarts.com/udab so things are progressing well and by September hopefully the UDC can have a set calendar of Third-Level Darts Competitions throughout most of the organisations run by it. As Chairman I'm committed to progressing it and establishing a World University Darts Championships.
I will be moving back to the Big Smoke soon, the 10th August and will be getting everything ready for a new pub darts team to play in one of the leagues come September!
For the time been, sin é!

European Elections Ireland North-West

Well it is certainly interesting the Election counts here in Ireland as Fianna Fáil are getting hammered across the country, the Greens look to be virtually wiped out at local government, Sinn Féin in a big scrap for their Party Vice-President Mary-Lou up against Eoin Ryan for Fianna Fáil and Socialist Party Leader Joe Higgins for final seat in European Elections in Dublin.

But the way the media's vilifing and deliberate character assasination of Declan Ganley of Libertas, polling at 9% in the MRBI/Irish Times a wholly biased Yes side to Lisbon as far as I'm concerned in as credible now as a cheap tabloid, using a 3week old poll using the headline "Declan Ganley's European Election Hopes Fade, when the Libertas Independent Poll put him topping the poll near 20% of the vote on 1st June, I knew as a Libertas supporter and canvasser and member of the party that this was just incredible. Then on the Sunday The Daily Mail/Red Sea Poll which saw Mr. Ganley at 16% wasn't published but all the other parties were, ah c'mon something was seriously wrong!

By the early tallies on Saturday 6th June he looks to comfortably take a seat along with possibly Harkin or Higgins as "The Cope" is in trouble. So much for Paddy Power already paying out on those 3, my €5 bet for him to win a seat & Top the Poll are very much still on.

He is a true Gent, unbelievably down to earth and so hard-working, it's a pure pleasure to be in his company.

Let the Party begin 2mrw.

Danger
